- Flu-like symptoms, which come and go
- Needing more of the substance to feel normal
- Unusual depression, anxiety, or changes in mood
- Extreme Defensiveness when confronted
- Paranoid or suspicious behavior, such as hiding, feelings of shame, and hypervigalence
- Inability to attend or decrease in performance at work or at school without using the substance
- Cravings for the Substance, leading to putting self or others in danger
